Drawing of Dalou Figurine

May 5, 2011

Here’s a toned drawing I’ve been working on of a figurine by the 19th century sculptor Aimé-Jules Dalou (based on a photograph.) It’s not quite finished yet, but I thought I’d go ahead and show how it looks.

The drawing is made with a thin lead (.5mm) graphite mechanical pencil, and the highlights are drawn with a white Prismacolor wax pencil. The paper is Strathmore 400 Series Pastel paper which comes in assorted colors.
